Casada Funeral Home & Crematory - RawlinsDenise Marie Truman (Rodgers) of Rawlins, Wyoming, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2025. She was 68 years old. She was born in Detroit, MI, on June 7, 1957 to Diana F. & William (Bill) J. Rodgers. Denise graduated from Cortland High in 1975. Upon graduation she met the love of her life, George (Rusty) Louis Truman, Jr and were later married on November 12, 1977.
Soon after, Denise completed and received her cosmetology license from Adrian’s Beauty College in CA. She continued to work in multiple fields, including beauty, healthcare, and even education. Rusty & Denise moved from Atwater to Marin County in 1982, and later decided to adopt their only daughter Cherie Christine. After spending years in CA, the family decided to relocate to Rawlins, WY in 2001.
Denise was so full of love, and always willing to do anything for anyone. She had a smile that would brighten any room. Her laugh was contagious. Denise would always go out of her way to acknowledge a birthday, anniversary, or any special date, not only for her family, but also her friend’s too. She was a strong woman of God, who always prayed and trusted Him through everything.
Denise loved nothing more than being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed visiting the ocean with Rusty by her side, road trips to view the scenery, shopping, and trying new restaurants. Denise and Cherie spent so much time together. Once Cherie (Adrian) had their sons, Denise’s grandchildren became her world. She loved attending football games, wrestling tournaments, always cheering them on, “bumping” their music, and going for a “cruise”. She even gained “grandchildren” by loving the grandkids’ friends too. Sundays were spent attending church, relaxing with her honey, watching Nascar or the San Fransisco 49ers. She loved her family with all her heart.
Denise is survived by her husband, George (Rusty) Truman, daughter Cherie (Adrian) Trujillo, grandsons Adrian Lucas, Gabriel, and Amos Trujillo, brother William (Bill) Jr (Suzi) Rodgers, brother Brad (Torrey) Rodgers, sister Tracy (Gaby) Velazquez, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Denise is preceded in death by her parents William (Bill) and Diana Rodgers.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Trinity Assembly of God.
