Dennis Albert

1943 - 2026

Dennis Franklin Albert, 83, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on February 26, 2026. Born on January 19, 1943 in Brunswick, MD, he was the son of the late George Raymond and Eva Gertrude (Burgee) Albert.

Well known as Denny, he grew up, raised his sons, and lived in the Brunswick community until 2000 when he moved to Sharpsburg, MD with his beloved wife, Cheryl M. Albert. Denny graduated from Brunswick High School in 1961. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a steamfitter on the USS Valley Forge during the Vietnam War. After his service, Denny worked for the CSX railroad and later at Ft. Detrick in Frederick, MD where he served as a civilian for 28 years. Denny is preceded in death by his parents, George and Eva and sister Arlyne Frock. Denny is survived by his wife Cheryl; sister Connie Ahalt and husband Wayne; brother Brent Albert and wife Sue; sister-in-law Judy Watkins; brother-in-law Jimmy Wilklow and wife Karen; two sons, Damon and Darren Albert; step-daughter Sherry Coon; step-son Sean Miller and wife Cassandra; grandchildren: Amanda, Kayla, Eva, Dustin, Alyssa, Kane, Brooke, and Saige; and great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at New Hope United Methodist Church, 7 South Maryland Ave. in Brunswick on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Mark Jarema officiating. Dennis Albert
