Dennis Arcand

Dennis Ray "Denny" Arcand, 82, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18th, surrounded by the love of his family. Denny was born on November 18, 1943 to Raymond "Archie" and Matilda "Tillie" Arcand in Ishpeming, Michigan. He graduated from Negaunee High School in 1961 and immediately joined the U.S. Navy where he served as a corpsman until his honorable discharge in 1964. He then enrolled at Northern Michigan University to begin his pharmacy studies. This is where he met Kris, his wife of almost 58 years. He graduated from Ferris State University with his degree in pharmacy in 1970 and went on to practice as a registered pharmacist for 40 years. His most favorite place of employment was Blackford Community Hospital. Denny is survived by his loving wife, Kris, their three sons and their wives: David (Robyn) of Massachusetts, Brian (Joanie) of Franklin, IN. and Neil (Mayumi) of Texas. Ten grandchildren: Derek, Ryan and Jake Arcand, Max, Ray and Ren Arcand, Carly Doty (Ethan), Ethan Arcand (Lezille), Emma Arcand (Dylan Walthour) and Mattie Klem (Ethan). Three great-grandchildren: Mabel, Jeremy and Lucy. A fourth great grandchild is due next Spring. Also surviving are brothers in law, sisters in law, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements are being handled by Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin, Indiana. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22nd. A Celebration of Life will be held at Noon Saturday, followed by Military Honors by the United States Navy and the Franklin American Legion Post No. 205. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Interchurch Food Pantry, 211 Commerce Drive, Franklin, Indiana 46131.
