Dennis Charles Carty passed away on August 17, 2024 in Taylorsville, Utah. He was born October 12, 1945 in Tooele, Utah to Samuel Charles and Venice Ileen Carty. He married the love of his life Carolyn Carty on March 8, 1968.
Dennis loved almost every sport, particularly baseball and basketball, but later in life golf became his favorite pastime. When it came to football, he would always watch his favorite team, the Washington Redskins. When it came to fantasy football he was always at the top of his leagues and really enjoyed that. He enjoyed coaching all the neighborhood kids and he never had a weekend that he wasn't at some ball field or having practice.
He was the Bishop of the Jordan 4th Ward along with other church callings. His latest calling was to be an ordinance worker at the Taylorsville Temple. He was always active in politics and loved to follow current events.
He grew up loving cars and his music albums. His cars were always clean and he always had at least a half tank of gas. He always had on his penny loafers and Levi’s. However, later in life other than when he was at church, he always wore shorts. He loved to sit at the kitchen table to study and read the scriptures. I'm sure at this moment his dog Ziggy is lying on his lap.
Dennis most of all loved his family and was always there to support them when he could. He loved to go to California to go to Disneyland and always had a few days at the beach. He cared for and loved all of us and he will always be in our hearts.
Dennis is survived by his wife Carolyn Carty; his mother Venice Carty; brother Richard Carty; children Jennifer and Lynn Rawlinson, Raquel McMillan, Clifford and Debi Carty, Denny and Shelley Carty, and Brittney Meik; grandchildren Haley and Matthew Guerrero, Mariah McMillan, Caleb Carty, Courtney and Mckay Nilson, Katelyn Carty, Kellie Carty, Clayton and Azaneth Carty, Carolie and Kyle Sheehan, Gage Meik, Kaycie Carty, Rachel McMillin, Madison Meik, Kaylee McMillin, Korrie Carty, Kenny Carty, Dylan Carty, Jorja and Ty Post.
He is preceded in death by his father Samuel Charles Carty
