Dennis David Eley

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dennis Eley, on February 23, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born on February 21, 1943, in Dearborn, MI. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-two years, Stacey Ann Cairell Eley, of Lexington, Ky. In addition to his wife, Dennis was also preceded in death by his loving parents, Paul and Dorothy Eley of Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Dennis is survived by his daughter, Stacy Eley and his son, born from his first marriage to Linda Whittington, their union of fifteen years which ended in divorce in 1983. Dennis was a beloved friend who will be deeply missed by his longtime supportive friend, Jonathan Houg and the extended Houg family, who always shared a place at their table, extended open invitations to Houg family celebrations, and welcomed Dennis into their caring home during his final years. Family members include Jonathan Houg, Jonathan Houg II, Crystal (Andrew) Livingood, Mallory Houg, Madison Houg (Ryan Richie), David Houg (Taylor Lawson); several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In his youth, Dennis attended Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, and its parochial school located in Dearborn, Michigan. After graduating high school, Dennis attended Henry Ford Community College and enlisted in the United States Navy for two years from 1964-1966 and then served as an active Reservist for an additional year in 1967.
Dennis worked as a metallurgical technician in quality control, for Rockwell International, where his position transferred him from Ashtabula, Ohio, to Battle Creek, Michigan to Thomasville, North Carolina and then finally to Kentucky, where he retired.
