Dennis M. Feher, 76, of Shelby Township, passed away on January 20, 2025, in Troy, Michigan. He was born May 16, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph and Mary (Szczotka) Feher. Dennis grew up in Willoughby, Ohio, earned an Eagle Scout status in 1962 and graduated from South High School in 1966. He earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Cleveland State University in 1971 and was a member of the Ohio Army National Guard from 1971-1976.
During his career as a mechanical engineer, he worked for Ohio Rubber Company, White Motor Company and Volvo. In 1985, Dennis relocated to Charlotte, N.C., to work for Freightliner followed by a move to Michigan in 1992 landing a job with Chrysler. During his time at Chrysler in the minivan platform department, he was granted a U.S. Patent for the inside door handle toggle release mechanism.
Dennis' hobbies included hunting, reloading and boating. He was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State University football teams. He was also a parishioner of St. Kieran Catholic Church in Shelby Township.
He is survived by his son, Michael Feher, daughter Tracy (Jason) Petipren, granddaughter Mirielle Petipren, brother, David Feher (Beverly), and nieces Christen Feher, Alissa (Andrew) Janke, and Dr. LeeAnne (Israel II) Torres. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Feher in 2008, and Mary (Szczotka) Feher in 2020.
Funeral Mass will be said on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 10 a.m. with Memorial Visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. at St. Kieran Catholic Church (53600 Mound Rd. Shelby Township, MI 48316.)
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dennis' name to Gift of Life Michigan or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
