Dennis Flory Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J. L. Davis Funeral Home on Jun. 9, 2025.
Dennis Eugene Flory, 75, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, PA.
Born on August 10, 1949 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Anna (Naugle) and Guy Mentzer Flory.
Dennis graduated from Shippensburg Area Senior High School, class of 1968.
He served in the U.S. Army Infantry Division and was a Vietnam War Veteran.
Dennis worked at Grove Worldwide Hydraulic Cranes for 30 years as Supervisor of the welding and assembly department. After his work at Grove, he was self-employed for 12 years doing home improvement and repairs.
Dennis had many different interests and hobbies. Fast cars may have been his favorite, working and restoring a 1964 Ford was just one project that we know of. He talked about going to local drag races and Ocean City car shows. He was also a big fan of Nascar racing, coordinating bus trips with friends and coworkers to attend them. Woodworking and furniture refinishing was also something that he liked to do. Whatever he decided to do, he wanted to learn how to do it well, as evidenced by the various car restoration and woodworking books we found among his belongings.
He is survived by his Sons, Dennis Michael Flory of Fayetteville, PA and Daniel Ray Flory of Orrstown, PA; and 2 Half-Sisters, Annette M. Paine and husband, Scott, of Bolivia, NC, and Michelle G. Statler and husband, Tim, of Greencastle, PA.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Waynesboro Hospital CCU and Paliative Care Departments for their compassionate and professional care of Denny throughout his illness.
Arrangements were made with J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, online condolences can be offered at www.jldavisfh.com.
