Dennis B. Gross, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on June 1, 2025, at the UK Medical Center. Born on April 19, 1950, in Leslie County, Kentucky, Dennis lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a profound love for his family.
Dennis had a successful career, working for 20 years at a chemical plant, where he earned the respect of his colleagues and made lasting friendships. His work ethic and commitment were evident throughout his life. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army, embodying the spirit of duty and honor that characterized his character.
A friendly and outgoing individual, Dennis was known for his engaging personality and ability to make those around him feel special. His hobbies reflected his love for nature and family; he enjoyed flower gardening and vegetable gardening, indulging in the simple pleasures of life. Additionally, he cherished moments spent four-wheeling and playing baseball with his family, often creating stories that will be shared for generations to come.
Dennis's proudest accomplishments included being a devoted husband to his loving and devoted wife, Angela Hoskins Gross. Together, they created a strong family foundation, and Dennis took immense pride in being a father to Anthony Todd Gross and Heather Collett and Allen. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Gage Collett, Holden Collett, and Maddie Gross. He is also survived by his dear sisters, Darlene Poth and Rita Ball, as well as a host of nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cordy Burkhart Gross, and his father, Jim Gross, his uncles: Willard Burkhart (killed in Vietnam) and Harold Gene Napier.
Dennis B. Gross will be remembered as a man who embraced life, loved deeply, and cherished his family above all else. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Funeral : Friday, June 6, 2025 - 2pm at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home in Hyden, KY.
