The memorial service celebrating the life of Dennis Henriksen, of Wadena, will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Wadena Alliance Church, with Pastor Brian Melvig presiding. The visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of service.

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and servant of his community, Dennis passed away peacefully at the age of 72, on the morning of Saturday, April 6, 2024 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving care was provided by his family and Knute Nelson Hospice.
Dennis was born to Donald and Verna (Schuster) Henriksen on July 20, 1951, in Morris, MN.
Dennis devoted his life to upholding the values of justice and compassion as a respected member of the Wadena Police Department for 29 years. His commitment to serving and protecting his fellow citizens earned him the admiration and gratitude of all who knew him. He was known for his kind heart, quick wit and acts of services.
Beyond his career, Dennis was a devoted family man who cherished every moment with his loving wife Soledad, whom he married May 29, 1998, along with his kids, and Sole's daughters. He was an active member and served as a trustee for the Alliance Church in Wadena.
Preceding Dennis in death were his father, Donald Henriksen; mother, Verna Teberg; and siblings, Clifford Henriksen and Diane Raasch.
Dennis will be remembered by his devoted wife, Soledad; children: Grant Henriksen and Derek Henriksen both of Fargo, ND, Ruth Wanzek of Jamestown, ND, Nayda (Jay) Mannle of Kailua, HI, Naomi Bender of Liberty Lake, WA, Nola (Mike) Kokotovich of Tucson, AZ, Nina White of Duluth; grandchildren: Megan, Taner, Carmela and Heath; siblings: Wayne Henriksen, Cathy Anderson, Joan Kellermann, Neil Henriksen and Jeff Henriksen; his in-laws; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and law enforcement colleagues.
Honorary urn bearers will be Bob Swenson, Ron Noon, Naomi Plautz, Holger Nielsen and Dennis Martin.
