Dennis A Jagla

Dennis Jagla, a proud Air Force veteran and cherished member of the Libertyville community, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born and raised in Chicago, Dennis earned his degree from Lewis University. He went on to serve our country in the Vietnam War. After his service, he dedicated his career to working as a county assessor. Dennis was known for his ability to nurture deep and lasting friendships, a testament to which was his bi-weekly get-togethers with his high school friends at Home Run Inn Pizza. His quick wit and great sense of humor brought joy to those around him.

Dennis had a special love for his dog, Casey, and their daily walks were a highlight of his life. He and his late wife, Susan, shared a passion for fishing in Canada, where they were an unbeatable team on the water. A devoted husband, uncle, and friend, Dennis will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Susan.

Dennis's memory lives on through his three nieces, Shelley Serrato, Jennifer (Brian) Sniadanko, and Jill (Craig) Roush, as well as his grandnieces and nephew, Serena and Natalie Roush, and Haley and Justin Sniadanko.

Services

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl., Libertyville, IL 60048, with a service to follow at 12:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, 1920 W Buckley Rd., Libertyville, IL 60048.
