Born in Wilmington, Delaware on June 13th lived in and around Allentown and Scranton Pennsylvania, near Princeton, New Jersey and Omaha, Nebraska. Died in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin on August 23rd.
A product of the 1970's who wanted to find his place in the world. He did, like most. Average in his standing, but a good guy to all he touched, whether friend, family, or stranger. He was even accepting and tender to small creatures pet or wild. His passionate hobby in life began with art, later it became political in nature. Everyone has a hobby! He was taken from us too soon and too quick at age 71.
We'll miss him terribly as long as we live. In 1979 he was preceded in death by his father Donald P. Buckley Sr.
He devoted over 40 years as Lead Material Handler and recycling specialist at Amcor Flexibles Mundelein Illinois and lived since 1975 in Lake County, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife Heather, son Fraser and daughter Mairi. In addition he cared for three step children - Christopher, Benjamin, and Catherine. Six step grandchildren followed. Also surviving is his mother Josephine and five of his siblings - Dennis, Kathleen (Bill Ray), Sally (Tom Iannucci), Christopher and Mary (Kathy Eiring). An assortment of nieces and nephews as well.
In lieu of flowers please donate to two of Don's favorite charities - The Gary Sinise Foundation for veterans or St. Jude's Hospital for children.
No funeral occurring, a private ceremony and burial at Ascension Cemetery Libertyville Illinois.

To the family and loved ones of Don Buckley, my deepest sympathies for the loss of Don. I worked with Don, and he was very much loved and respected by everyone that knew him. Don had a very kind spirit about him. When I first met Don, we hit it off immediately. We had many a conversations about what was going on nationally and in the world. I loved Don like a brother. I'm gonna miss him immensely. Hopefully, I'll meet up with him again. Hey, Don! I know you're up there! Please put a good word in for me with the Big Guy!
