Frederick C. Walpole, 72, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 in Green Oaks, Illinois. He was born February 5, 1953 in Chicago, IL, was raised in Antioch, IL and was a longtime resident of Mt. Prospect, IL. Fred was a 1971 graduate of Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, IL and received his bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. He enjoyed playing tennis, trips up north, playing cards & Scrabble, snow skiing, traveling and cruising. Most of all he loved spending time with friends and family, especially with his young grandchildren. Surviving are his 2 children, Matt (Kelly) Walpole and Judi (Jeff) Hendricks; 5 grandchildren, Brody, Audrey, Whitney, Lanie and Danny; former wife and dear friend, Patti Walpole; 5 siblings, Linda (the late Ron) Shotwell, Kathi (Zeke) Onchuck, Jenny (Scott) LaChance, Chris (Gary) Stratton and Dave (Terri) Walpole, and by sister-in-law, Ceci Walpole. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Frances Walpole, his brother, Kevin Walpole, and his beloved aunt Edna and grandma Wooding. A Celebration of Life open house will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 11am-3pm at the Friendship Park Conservatory in Des Plaines, IL (395 W. Algonquin Road).
