Diane Lasic Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tippecanoe Funeral & Cremation Services on Feb. 5, 2026.
Diane Lynn Lasic Moskal, born April 9, 1946, passed away following a short stay at Cumberland Pointe in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Diane later made Indiana her home, graduating and attending Purdue University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. Purdue remained a significant part of her life, not only as a student but as her professional home for four decades. She worked in various departments throughout the university, ultimately serving as Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Libraries before retiring in 2003 after nearly 40 years of dedicated service.

In 1966, Diane married the love of her life, Milan Lasic, and lived in West Lafayette. Together they built a blessed life and raised their sons until Milan's passing in 1993. Family was always at the center of Diane's world.

She had a deep love of reading, especially the novels of James Michener, and a passion for Broadway musicals. Her son Victor fondly remembers long walks she took with him and his brother Michael, often ending at the park-simple moments that became cherished memories. During a particularly difficult time in Victor's life, Diane found comfort and connection through theater, and the two could often be found attending local high school plays and shows together, lifting each other's spirits.

Diane was a fantastic cook and took great pride in caring for her family and friends. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by the people she loved. She was also known for her generosity and determination, playing a vital role in helping many of her late husband's family and friends navigate the legal process to immigrate to the United States-leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.

She is survived by her son, Victor M. Lasic of West Lafayette, Indiana; her brother, John James Moskal (Dagmar) of Michigan City, Indiana; her niece, Liz Mitchell (Allen) of Gilbert, Arizona; her nephew, John A. Moskal of Chicago, Illinois; and her great-nephew, Richie Mitchell of Gilbert, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Moskal and Ann Moskal (Ptak); her husband, Milan Lasic; her son, Michael M. Lasic; her brother, Robert Moskal; and her sister, Nancy Moskal.

Diane faced the final chapter of her life with remarkable grace, strength, and unwavering faith. Even in her final days, she was deeply thankful, thoughtful of others, and rooted in her love for God. She carried herself with quiet courage, encouragement, and wisdom, always lifting up those around her rather than turning inward. Her life was a reflection of service, faith, and strength, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and love that will continue to guide those she leaves behind.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
