Herman “Dennis” Kiser, age 68, of Hephzibah Church Road, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, July 27, 2024. He was born December 24, 1955, in Gaston County to the late Henry Herman and Carolyn Robinson Kiser.
Dennis was a gifted auto mechanic whose true love was farming. He was a proud Eagle Scout. Dennis enjoyed gardening and canned the bounty. He often spent his spare time fishing on Lake Norman, or hunting. He also loved to travel with his family. He was a lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He loved his two children, Richard and Jill, and adored his six grandchildren, including two sets of twins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Janice Davis Kiser.
Survivors include his son, Richard Kiser and wife Jessica of Crouse, daughter, Jill Kiser Engle, and husband Justin of Phoenix, NY; grandchildren, George Engle, Henry Engle, Maggie Engle; Alaina Kiser, Anna Kiser, and Emma Kiser; sisters, Diane Carpenter (Wade) and Wanda Huffstetler (Greg); sister-in-law, Patricia Senter (Tony); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his business partner, Bruce Kiser.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven King officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church Long-Term Maintenance Fund, 509 Long Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
