Love you Dad. I miss you so much. You always told such good stories and made everything so fascinating, imaginative funny and magical. It was like even a trip to what you knew as my favorite place to eat was always a fascinating adventure to tell about. When I was ten I chose to go there out of any place for my birthday I wanted to go and I chose there. Where is there, ya might ask.. None other then the fabulous White , not to be confused with the white house or the ice castle sculptures saint Paul would would put on a fabulous display for all to see, lol. I felt like you held onto that and would tell me how you would even have such a grand adventure and animated story to tell that you always told so well any story you told. You were always so kind understanding not judgemental in nature and chill that I felt like I could come to you and talk to you about anything. I feel like any wires that could have ever gotten crossed between us we could dance it out like when we learned the criss cross dance as my first dance I learned. Right before Michael Jackson which you always thought I was a weirdo getting so into Michael and trying to learn all his moves, but hey you and mom got me started on the dance stuff and boy did have moves so you would watch my performances that I put on for you and mom and little sandy and clap even tho you weren't a Michael fan, you were a Megan Mary and Sandy fan. I remember your over the hill birthday party and how you lit up and had so much fun with it that mom through you a surprise party and the place was packed and you had a grand old time talking and joking with everyone. Always you with all your jokes and the way you made ppl light up with enthusiasm and made them laugh so hard they would cry is what forever will be internalized of my memories of you. You taught me about being loyal to have honor duty nobility purpose and strength and you did so with action that I've witnessed you show me how to carry these things through example to be exemplorary in regards to them to the best if my ability bc these things are so important to our family tradition for generations before us and generations to come God willing. You believed in country and in a better tomorrow and faught and served to show for God and country is what patriots stand for and stand up to do- put their hand over their heart therefore putting love for country into action and do whatever God guided them to do for love of country. I'm so happy I got to have you be the one to be my dad, the greatest dad in the whole world. You taught me so much and made me feel so loved and special. All of my memories of you I will cherish and feel fortunate to have them, and have you and your love close to my heart, always and forever, Megan Mendenhall
