Dennis Mivshek Obituary
Dennis lived a full life and retired after 22 years of service with the Waukegan Fire Department as an engineer, paramedic, diver and fireman. He graduated from Waukegan High School in 1964. He was active in Biology Club, football, track, and "W" Club. He attended DeVry Institute of Technology. He was a life-long member and Sergeant at Arms of KSKJ St. Mary's Lodge #79; a member at the Moose Lodge 706, Slovenian National Home Society, First United Methodist Church and Glen Flora Country Club. Dennis enjoyed golf, gardening and home improvement projects. AKA "The Quarter King." As an avid Cubs fan, Dennis spent many days with family and friends cheering them on at Wrigley; and he was definitely proud to watch the Cubs win the World series in 2016!
Dennis was devoted to his family and cherished their time together. He is survived by his loving wife Lori A. (Howard) Mivshek; his daughters Jill (Adam) Boness and Jori (Donnie) Serbedzija, both of Ingleside, IL. and Jennifer (George) Kuzmickus of Manchester, TN, and their mother Diana Lynn Mivshek of FL; grandchildren Heather (Theodore) (and Heather's soon-to-be-born daughter); CJ and Stephanie, George (Courtney) and Jessica. Dennis is also survived by his brother, Darrell (Barbara) and their children Luke and Melanie, and his brother Dean's children, Tina (Jamie) Darling, Michael (Heather) Mivshek and Rebecca (Ethan) Asch.
We would like to thank The Howard Family (Bill, Judy, Mike, Vicki, Brad, Tyler and Megan) for their love and care of Dennis, and for always welcoming us as their own.
A memorial celebration of Dennis' life will be delayed until a time it is safe and healthy for us to gather. Our family will further advise you via Legacy, Facebook and E-Mail when a service is scheduled.

Lori both Sue and I want to express our deepest sympathy regarding Dennis. We consider you both good friends and of course we always enjoyed seeing you both and had lots of fun when we did. If there is any way we can do something for you please let us know.

Dennis i will miss you so much. I will never forget the good times we had in sports and just great friendship we had. You never complained about you're hard times and always had a smile on your face. I will pray for you and your family that they will all see you in the end.

Deni will be missed, always looked forward to seeing him on Tuesday afternoon after Tuesday Postal League Play at Bonnie Brook Golf Course. I met Dennis in the 70's alone with the group. Rat, Freddy, Bert, Wolffy, and all the rest I can't remember. Love ya Dennis.

Dennis, we had a lot of good times skiing and diving. Someday we'll all be sitting around the kitchen table again. No more calls, the young guys can handle things. We'll miss you Brother!

I was privileged to have spent several years working with Dennis at the fire department. He was always a fun loving and gracious person to be around.Marilyn remembers Dennis bringing his granddaughter to the YMCA when she worked at the front desk. He sure loved his grandchildren. He will be missed.

My parents both spoke very highly of Dennis. I remember Being around him when I was Little. I always Remembered him as kind hearted and caring. Dennis was a caring and kind man. I was a nurse in the ER at Victory Memorial Hospital. We often saw each other, and, he always was on his game! One great guy! He will be missed by many!!
