SFC (Retired) Dennis (Pop) Alfred Morlang, 74, passed away at his home Thursday, January 2, 2025.
He was born December 31, 1950, in Geneva, New York to the late Arthur and Betty Morlang.
Upon turning 18, Dennis joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Vietnam. Other tours included Japan and Germany during his 20 years in the military.
He resided in Lawton following his retirement, working as a truck driver and being employed with Lawton Cablevision, before retiring in 2001. He married his wife, Teresa, in 1994 in Lawton. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and fishing.
Burial and graveside services with full military honors will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 10 at Fort Sill National Cemetery, under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. Pastor Harold VanArsdale of Killeen, Texas, a longtime military friend, will officiate.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Mike Morlang of Lawton and Junior Morlang, and his wife, Wendy of Georgia; and three daughters, Brionna (Morlang) Boykin, and husband, Brice Boykin of Lawton; Amy Ward, and husband, Del of Lawton; and Angela Hopkins of Lawton; brothers, Ronnie and wife, Bonnie; Bill and wife, Carol; Robert and wife, Hilda; Jimmy and wife, Janice; Larry and wife, Brenda; and Lloyd; and a sister, Sandra, all of New York.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry, Art and Steve.
