Dennis Clifton Pickett entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 23, 2024. He was born on November 28, 1964, to Louvenia Athalone in Shaw, MS.
Dennis's early education was partly spent in Sunflower County before moving to Pascagoula, MS. He continued his education in the Pascagoula School District and graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1982. Afterward, he enrolled in Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and received a certification in Auto Mechanics.
He was baptized at an early age at Union Baptist Church and served as a musician and director of the youth choir. Dennis was very independent and had a strong work ethic which involved him in multiple jobs such as school bus driver, auto mechanic, painter, and security guard.
His hobbies were racing cars and fixing cars up to drive.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Louvenia Athalone Pickett; his great grandparents, Sam and Willie Overton; his maternal grandparents, Henry and Elnora Athalone; and his uncle, Sam (Mary) Athalone.
He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Marvin L. Pickett, Sr.; sister, Phoebe Pickett and brother, Marvin Leon Pickett, II; aunts, Daisy (Mark) Martinez (Chicago, IL), Edna Davis (Chicago, IL), Rosie Coffy (Chicago, IL), Martha Jackson (Chicago, IL), Denise Wash (Chicago, IL), Alzeda (James) Betts (Atlanta, GA), Lou Ann Stroman (Atlanta, GA); uncles, Dr. Alton (Donna) Pickett (Lebanon, TN), Edward (Callie) Pickett (Oakland, CA), Raife (Margie) Pickett (Oakland, CA), George (Darenell) Pickett (Pascagoula, MS); special cousin, Mary Ann Overton (Chicago, IL) and a host of other cousins and friends.
He will be missed by family and friends who love him.
