Dennis Totland age 70, passed away on January 9th at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND surrounded by his family. Dennis was born on April 15th, 1953, to Leonard and Juliette (Blauert) Totland.
Dennis married Mary Lowe on November 1st, 1975, in Long Prairie MN with a reception in Detroit Lakes following the official ceremony. Together, they dairy farmed in both the Long Prairie and Detroit Lakes areas.
During his entire life he enjoyed the company of his family and friends, dancing, music, being on the farm, and taking care of his animals.
Dennis will be remembered by his wife Mary Totland of 48 years; their children, spouses and significant others, and grandchildren: Andrea and Michael Johnson, their sons Tobias, Elijah, and Nathaniel Johnson. Jennie and Andrew Watkins. Lucas and Jennifer Totland, their children Lennox DeBaere, Ryker, Khlowe and Rhowdy Totland. Andrew Totland and Ashley Dodd, their sons Ian and William Totland. Rachael Totland and Andrew Gilbertson, their son Ethan Gilbertson. Emily Totland and Dillon Hoehne, their sons Ivan and Brock Hoehne. His siblings Linda, Lois, Carol, Janet, Duane, Vickie, Julie and their spouses, significant others and families.
He has been reunited with his parents, his grandparents, and sister Lorie.
The visitation for Dennis will be held at WEST-KJOS FUNERAL HOME (900 Summit Avenue, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501) on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, from 5 to 7 PM. Visitation continues Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 10 – 10:45 AM at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH (912 Lake Avenue, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501). A funeral service will follow at 11 AM with Pastor Joe Skogmo officiating. Final rest will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
