Dennis Edwin Wadle, 82, of Raytown, Missouri passed away on April 11, 2024.
Dennis was born on November 23, 1941 near Melcher, Iowa. The son of Donald and Nellie Wadle, Dennis was the second of seven children. He passed away on April 11, 2024 at his Raytown, Missouri home with family at his side.
Dennis grew up on the family farm outside of Melcher. It was in this environment that he developed his lifelong commitments to family, faith, and hard work. Dennis had a busy childhood. He enjoyed hunting and sports, especially football, when he wasn't doing chores or helping on relatives' farms. After graduating from Melcher-Dallas High School in 1960, he moved to Des Moines where he attended Drake University. It was here that he would meet his future wife, Frances Burns.
Dennis and Fran were married on June 23,1962 and shared nearly 60 years of marriage. They spent three years in South Carolina while Dennis was in the Marine Corps, then returned to Des Moines in 1966. In 1972 they moved to Raytown, Missouri where they planted roots and nurtured their five children.
Upon his discharge from the Marine Corps, Dennis began a career in accounting. His early work was in the trucking industry, which provided him with the opportunity to grow professionally. Dennis was known for high standards and hard work. He was equally dedicated to his Catholic faith. Dennis served on Parish Councils and helped tend to parishioners unable to attend Sunday Mass.
Dennis was an integral part of his community. He was a wonderful neighbor who was always ready to help someone in need. He was a gracious host who could always find room for one more at the table. Dennis enjoyed giving back through his volunteer work with the Knights of Columbus.
Dennis leaves a legacy of dedication, faith, and love. He is survived by his siblings: Phyllis, Mike, Don, Joyce, and Cherie; his five children: Jeff, Ann, Shawn, Brad, and Scott; four daughters-in-law, eleven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Knights of Columbus Council #13671, 8941 James A. Reed Rd., Kansas City, MO 64138.
Funeral Mass for Mr. Wadle will be on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. John Francis Regis Parish. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the parish. Entombment with Military Honors to follow at Valor Park Memorial Gardens.

Thank you for letting us know of Dennis' passing. He and Fran will always have special memories in my mind. As a kid, I grew up hearing about them from Rena and Toad, but didn't have a clue who they were. I feel blessed to have gotten to know them and learned for myself what neat, neat people they were. Peace and prayers to the family as you mourn dear Denny.
