Dennis Walker Sr., a cherished member of his community and beloved family man, passed away on February 28, 2026, at the VA Hospital. He was born on July 15, 1960, in Lubbock, Texas, and dedicated his life to serving others while embracing his passion for music.
Dennis graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1978, and shortly thereafter, he demonstrated his commitment to his country by enlisting in the military. His service has left a lasting impact, reflecting his strong character and dedication to duty. Following his time in the military, Dennis pursued a career as a truck driver at John's Trucking Service, where he was known for his reliability and work ethic.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dennis had a vibrant personality and a love for singing that resonated with family and friends. His joyful spirit and ability to bring people together will be fondly remembered by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Dennis is survived by his two daughters, Ericka Miller and Ebony Walker-Rose; his two sisters, Pamela Evans and Cathryn Pipkins; and four grandchildren along with two great-grandchildren. His family recalls with warmth his devotion and the love he imparted throughout their lives.
He joins his departed loved ones, including his father, John T. Walker; his mother, Lucy Mae Walker; his son, Dennis Walker Jr.; and sisters Tinie Ann Walker and brother Donald Jackson. The loss of Dennis will be deeply felt by all who loved him.
A Celebration of Life honoring Dennis Walker Sr. will take place on March 13, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. Family, friends, and all who wish to pay their respects are invited to attend this gathering to honor a man who touched many lives.
