Dennis Zehrer Obituary

Born in Perth Amboy, Dennis was raised and resided there for many years before settling in Carteret 22 years ago. He honorably served in the United States Army and was later employed as an Iron Worker with the Iron Workers Union Local #373. Dennis was a longtime volunteer firefighter with Perth Amboy Fire Department and enjoyed hunting with his late brother in law as well as fishing with his son.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda (Paulikens) Zehrer; son, Dennis Zehrer with his loving partner Tara; grandchildren, Ryan and Jenna Zehrer; sister, Carolee Andersch along with nieces and nephews, Peter, Rena, Gina, Tina, Matthew, Scotty, Randy and Dana.
Funeral services will begin at 10am on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading followed by entombment at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Friends and relatives may begin arriving to the funeral home starting at 9am.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm at the funeral home.

I have many memories of Dennis, he was an asset to Ironworkers Local 373 and an excellent ironworker. My condolences to his family.
