It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of "Denny" Squires, aged 63, of Louisville, Kentucky, who departed this life on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
Denny was a cherished husband, devoted father, beloved son, supportive brother, and a treasured papaw. For over two decades, he was an active member of Friendship Separate Baptist Church, where his spirit of community shone brightly. Denny dedicated 23 years of his working life to Parker/Dayco, where he served as a fork truck driver, demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment.
In his leisure time, Denny found joy in a variety of pursuits—whether it was lovingly restoring his 1969 Chevelle, enjoying serene camping trips by the lake with family, or riding anything that had wheels. He also had a penchant for binge-watching classic television shows while indulging in a slice of pizza. Denny was a man of generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand to those around him, embodying kindness in all aspects of his life. His greatest treasures were his grandchildren, whose laughter and love filled his heart with pride.
Born on February 1, 1961, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Squires; mother, Mary Richards, his step-father, Glenn Richards; and his brothers, Andre and Perry Squires. Denny leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience through his sons, Aaron (Emily) Squires and Dennis Lancaster; his daughter, Shawna (Brandon) Garner; his brothers, Mike (Vivian) Richards, Tony Squires, Marty (Bonnie) Richards and Daniel (Dawn) Braden; his sister, Pat Richards; and his cherished granddaughters, Macayla, Avah, Amarya, Jenell, and Azalyn, along with countless nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will forever honor his memory.
Visitation for Denny will be held from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). A Funeral Service in his remembrance will take place at 6:00 PM on the same day.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions in Denny's memory be directed to Shirley's Way.
