"Mom, can you make macaroni and cheese? When? Now?!?! You must be mad!!
Denzel had such a love for macaroni and cheese that he often asked at the weirdest times. He was
a night owl. I made a fuss but, in the end, he always got his pan of macaroni and cheese all for
himself.
Denzel Anthony Chan was born November 27, 1998, 8 lbs. 1oz at Downstate Hospital in
Brooklyn, NY after 25 hours of labor. He graduated from Sheepshead Bay High School.
Everyone who knew him, knew of his love for basketball and his passion for video games.
On September 2nd, 2024, while celebrating his Guyanese culture and heritage, he was a victim of a
random violent crime. He succumbed to his injuries passing away after a tremendous and valiant
effort to save his life.
He is preceded in death by his loving and dedicated maternal grandmother Vonnie Cort and
Uncle Dennis Roberts. He is survived by his devoted parents, Collin Dover and Launette Chan; his
sisters Tanisha and Mya; brothers Shawn, Davey, Antonio and Andrew; Grandmother, Shirley
Dover; Uncles: Jimmy, Junior, Eyone, Linden, Jermaine; Aunts: Carol, Denise, Diane, Cecelia;
Godmother: Tiffany Nelson, Cousins: Janell, Ava, Michael, Melissa, Kennedy, LaToya, Samantha,
Vianna, Nakia, Carlisha, Zion, Shawn B, Mark, Linshanna, Tayshawn, Marilyn, Roxanne, Stefan,
Kianna, Shaniece, Rawle, Renee, Rochelle, Kayandra, Taniya, Vanessa; Great Aunts and Uncles:
Robert & Dorothy Nelson, Sheila Roberts, Lynette Roberts, Rudolph Roberts and many extended
family and friends
