Derek Shane Glumm

Derek Shane Glumm, of Romulus, MI passed away suddenly on Monday, May 20, 2024. He was 35 years old.
A beacon of generosity and care, Derek always put others before himself. He had a heart of gold, shown through his endless acts of kindness and his dedication as a caregiver to all who needed it. His love for practical jokes brought plenty of laughs to all who knew him. He taught his children the art of mischief, especially in scaring their grandma. Derek was passionately loyal, maintaining lifelong friendships and always prioritizing his family. His devotion as a father was unmatched, always ensuring his children came first in every aspect. He enjoyed bonding with his children through doodling, or playing video games together.
He had a passion for cars and motorcycles and his love for adventure extended to the gun range. His body was his canvas where he showed his love for tattoos. He enjoyed concerts and trying new fancy restaurants with his fiancé, Brittani. He also loved to cook, and recently learned how to perfect lamb chops.
Although Derek will be truly missed, he leaves a legacy of love, generosity, and laughter that will live on in those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Derek is survived by his fiancé, Brittani; children, Jazmine and Bentily; parents, Joy and Garth Glumm; sister, Lauren (Jake) Simmons; grandmother, Janice Cattin; aunts, Paula Potter and Gayle (Sean) McGinty; uncle, Gregory (Karen) Glumm. He is also survived by many loving cousins, extended family, dear friends, and his faithful, K9 companion, Storm.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Karlie Sloan; and grandfather, Phillip Elliott.
