Derek was a graduate of Hampton High School. He was an Electrician for many years and a proud member of the Local 5 Electrical Union.
Derek will be fondly remembered for his reliability, sensitivity, sense of humor, eagerness to help others, his thirst for knowledge and the truth, love of Science, passion for cars, and devotion to his daughters and wife. He was an avid Steelers fan who enjoyed juxtaposition, small "pup pups," and knew the lyrics to almost any song. He was an active volunteer at Poppin Tags Free Store in Russellton, PA.
Our hearts are broken. We wish we had more time with you. You will live on in our hearts forever. We hope you found your peace.
Friends and family will be received on Monday from 3-7 p.m. at Schellhaas & Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1600 Stone Mansion Dr., Sewickley, PA 15143, www.schellhaasfh.com.
