Derek Jon Rinkus

Derek Jon Rinkus, age 53 of Worcester and formerly of Hanover, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024. Born in Brockton on May 9, 1971, he was the son of the late John J. Rinkus, Jr. and is survived by his mother Carol (Ajeman) Rinkus of Hanover. Derek graduated from Hanover High School where he played football and later attended Northeastern University. He had a passion for cooking which led him to have a successful career in the culinary world. Most of all, Derek loved his children.
Derek is survived by his children Andrew and Madison Rinkus of North Carolina. He was the brother of John J. Rinkus III and his wife Lynne of Pembroke, Gary Rinkus and his wife Chrissy of Pembroke, and Marc Rinkus and his wife Ann of Plymouth. Derek is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington Street, Route 53, Hanover, on Tuesday, July 23rd from 4-7 PM. All other services will be private.
