Derek Whiting Obituary
Derek was a 2016 graduate of Clinton High School. His love for his Lord found him on some Sunday mornings attending services at the Clinton United Church of Christ. He enjoyed cooking and being outside taking nature walks in the area. Derek was a very giving person and was always willing to step up and help people. His infectious smile and laugh were loved by all who knew him and will always be remembered. Most important to Derek was his family whom he loved unconditional including the family pets.
Derek is survived by his parents Chris and Beth Whiting of Clinton; brother, Jacob Whiting of Clinton; two sisters, Emily and Megan Whiting both of Clinton; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Barb Spina of Onsted; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Cindy Whiting.
Visitation for Derek will be from 4-8 pm on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Private graveside services will be at Riverside Cemetery in Clinton with Pastor Diane White officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

My deep sympathy and sorrow for your loss. Derek was a good friend of my son , Tyler Barkley. He always had a wonderful smile and kindness. He was a pleasure to be around when he came to the lake to visit my son. He will be missed.

With love and sympathy to your family, so very sorry for your loss. Derek was friends with my Daughter Anjelica Church and my son Anthony Karn, he was both kind and helpful to my kids.
