Derrick Lamont Williams, II, 25, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 9, 2021. Derrick was born on April 19, 1996 in Stuttgart, Germany to Derrick Lamont Williams and Sharron Denise (Lay-Miller) Williams.
Being born in Germany, Derrick was raised as a dual military child while his father and mother proudly serve their country in the United States Army. Derrick was a 2014 graduate of Harker Heights High School in Texas where he was a talented wrestler and loved going to any class where he could learn a new language. Upon graduating high school, Derrick received a Division 1 scholarship to wrestle at North Dakota State University where he continued his academic career.
After college, Derrick's passion for entrepreneurship blossomed. He was the proud owner of 4YourHome Furnishings where he sold new and used furniture to customers. Very business-minded, Derrick was working on producing his own line of apparel and shoes. He also had his own podcast and spent time in the recording studio making music. He was talented in many aspects and had so much to offer the world.
When not working or creating, Derrick could be found spending quality time with his family, especially his precious son, D3 (Derrick Lamont Williams, III). He was quite the "sneaker head" and had a vast collection of shoes. Cooking food and going to the gym were just a few of the things Derrick could be found doing, along with video streaming on YouTube, specifically Up N Smoke Productions and Squill TV were his favorites.
Derrick was ultimately a people person, which is one of the many reasons why he succeeded as an entrepreneur. He was extremely handsome and had a gentle soul that was full of love. As much as he loved others, everyone around him loved Derrick. He had a big heart with a great sense of humor that attracted just about everyone to want to be his friend. He gave the sincerest hugs, and you knew when you were in his presence you felt loved. Derrick was loyal to his friends and family, always willing to give them the shirt off his back if necessary. His sense of inspiration and motivation to be a better person every day will be the legacy that lives on in each of his loved ones he leaves behind. Derrick was and will remain his parent's pride and joy.
Survivors include his parents Derrick Lamont and Sharron Denise Williams; his precious son, Derrick Lamont Williams, III; his siblings, Jasmine, Taylor, and Shaun Gordon; significant other, Amaya Lowery; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
