Paul Gunderson, age 84, of Rochester, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Paul Edward Gunderson was born to Hazel and Palmer Gunderson on February 17, 1941, in Fargo, ND. Paul graduated from Wayzata High School in 1958. He attended North Dakota State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Degree in Electrical Engineering with membership in Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi academic honors societies. Paul continued his studies at NSDU, graduating in 1963 with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. He moved to Rochester, MN to work for IBM.

In 1964, he married the love of his life, Bonnie Egeberg of Fargo, ND. They continued to live in Rochester. They had two children, Douglas (Annette, Jacob), and Stacy Gunderson (Dave Thibedeau). In retirement, Paul volunteered at the Mayo Clinic for over 12 years and gave over 1,300 volunteer hours. He enjoyed boating, fishing, computers and cheering for Bison football and Jacob's hockey games.

Memorial service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood East Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Mayo Clinic Development and Cancer Research fund.
