Derwin LaMarr Vandergriff

Derwin LaMarr Vandergriff, 71, of Hixson, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 26, 2025, following a short illness. He was born on June 10, 1954, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

A devoted believer in Christ, Derwin said his favorite part of Christmas was "the reason for the season." He loved his family deeply, and his greatest joy was his children-watching them grow into adulthood and remaining their constant and biggest supporter.

He is survived by his sister, Kiberly Wyatt; his daughter, Katie Vandergriff (Ryan); his sons, Taylor Vandergriff and Preston Vandergriff; his nieces, Hannah Roberson (Tyler) and Hayley Wyatt; his granddaughter, Charley Ann Rutledge; and his great nephews: Copeland, Leo, and Boone Roberson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Wanda Vandergriff, and his brother, Roger Dale Vandergriff.

Services will be private. Memorials or donations may be made to Welcome Home of Chattanooga.
