DeSean Michael Watts

DeSean Michael Watts, born on June 22, 1995, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio, following a traumatic seizure. He was 29 years old. DeSean's selflessness and generosity were evident in his decision to be a registered organ donor, giving the gift of life to others in need.
His four young children survive him: Ameerah, Cassius, Daxton, and Meilani; his mother, Bobbie (Ray) Watts-Cowen; his sisters, Alyssa (Stephen) Schwartz and Christina (Brian) Gartner-Butts; his brother, Charles (Hayley) Cowen; his sister, Jessica (Rusty) Klinger; his significant other, Autumn Storm Spears and her two children, Aub and Asiah. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.
DeSean was preceded in death by his father, Darryel Taylor; his grandfather, Howard Watts; his grandmother, Patricia Watts, and aunt, Sharon Traylor.
DeSean was a kind soul with a passion for spending time with family and friends. He found joy in discussing video games and anime, often sharing his interests by being an avid Twitch streamer. His warmth and enthusiasm touched all who knew him.
A celebration of DeSean's life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the American Legion Hall, located at 85 S 6th Street, Newark, Ohio 43055 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help cover funeral expenses. Desean's life was tragically brief but filled with love and connection.
