Desi V Nichols

Desi V. Nichols, a dedicated and accomplished individual, has departed from this world at the age of 75, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and inspiration. Born on July 5, 1948, in Virginia, Desis journey on this Earth ended on February 1, 2024, also in Virginia. Though deeply mourned, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Desis life was filled with remarkable achievements and contributions to her community. Throughout her career, she held various positions that showcased her passion for helping others. Having retired as the Director of Labor Relations at United Way, Desi made a significant impact on the lives of countless individuals. Prior to this, She gained skills and knowledge at IBM that she put to use in the opening of Dam Neck Naval Base; she served as a Central & Pacific telephone operator and worked through the ranks, and also worked as a paralegal, using her skills and knowledge to support those in need.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Desi had a zest for life that extended beyond the workplace. She found joy and relaxation in pursuits such as golfing and bowling, always embracing new challenges and opportunities for growth. Desis commitment to her passions reflected her innate determination and resilience.
Education held great importance in Desis life, and she proudly graduated from Craddock High School in 1966. Additionally, she was an active member of CWA Local 2022, Retired Members Club, cherishing the bond she formed with fellow members. Desis involvement and dedication to these organizations exemplified her unwavering support for causes close to her heart.
Desis love and devotion extended to her family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared together. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Brandy Nichols, as well as numerous cousins who were touched by her kindness and compassion.
To honor Desis life and pay tribute to the incredible woman she was, a memorial service will be held on February 22, 2024, at 12 pm at Freedom Baptist Church, located at 308 Centerville Turnpike N, Chesapeake, VA 23320. This gathering will provide an opportunity for all those who were touched by Desis presence to come together, celebrate her life, and find solace in each others company.
Desi V. Nichols was a shining example of perseverance, dedication, and love. Her impact on the lives she touched will continue to inspire and uplift for generations to come.
