Devear Lemmones

Devear Lemmones, 92, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025. She was born on September 13, 1933, in Kansas City, Missouri, the eighth child of John Turner and Retter Henderson.
Devear attended public schools in the Kansas City area and proudly graduated from Lincoln High School in 1951. She began a long and fulfilling career with R.H. Macy's Department Store, dedicating 35 years of service before retiring in 1986.
She will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her joy in celebrating the holidays, her fondness for western movies, her cherished afternoon naps, and her sweet tooth for ice cream. Devear carried herself with style, grace, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her.
Her life was a shining example of love, resilience, and elegance. Though she is gone, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Perry Lemmones Sr.; her parents, John Turner and Retter Henderson; her daughter and son; three sisters; and four brothers.
Devear leaves to cherish her memory one son, Perry Lemmones Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Tamia Lemmones, Surrayya Clemoens (Yabin), Maury Williams, Marnell Williams, Mariel Williams, Matthew Williams, Roy Broadus II, and Arianna Criscuolo; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dolly Ward. She also leaves behind a devoted niece, Tyla Paige, along with a loving circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.
Funeral services Tuesday, November 18, at 11:00am at the Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 10:00am-11:00am at the chapel.
