Dewayne E. Breeze, 66, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away at 11:50 am July 1, 2025 at Gateway Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born December 5, 1958 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Clifford L. and Edna (Higdon) Breeze.
Dewayne is survived by his siblings, Clifford "Butch" Breeze and wife, Barbara, Debbie Venters, Marvin Richardson and wife, Heather, Kim Bevis and husband, Allen, Twila Gregory and husband, Mike, Sylvia Thetford and husband, James and several nieces and nephews including, Sonya Howell and husband, Tim, Paul Breeze and wife, Tonja, and Elizabeth Ramsey.
In addition to his parents, Dewayne was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Patterson; sister, Cindy Blazier; brother-in-law, Otis Venters; and great-nephew, Ashley Halbin.
Dewayne worked as a custodian for Jefferson County Housing Authority for many years. He was a very caring person, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Dewayne enjoyed watching westerns.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Black Oak Ridge Cemetery in Bluford, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Dewayne's honor to Little Paws of Mount Vernon.
