On September 4, 2024, Dewayne Britton, 62 unexpectedly passed away, with his wife Martha Eads Britton by his side. During his much too short life he made an impact on everyone he met. Dewayne never met a stranger, just a new person that he entertained with his wit and humor which was sometimes unfiltered. Dewayne could talk for hours about anything, but he loved Corvettes and Classic trucks. He loved spending hours tinkering with these vehicles, and of course telling anyone he could about them. He loved being able to see and admire his collection or cars, trucks, and Snap-On Tools. His work passions included visiting with people and teaching the near adults how to fix things as he drove around town acting as a modern-day Barney Fife. Dewayne loved working with Delk Construction. He was up to any challenge short of cutting a board. Rumor has it, a vow was made to never ask him to cut another board.
Dewayne is best described as one of a kind. His heart was huge, but did not let a lot of people see that side of him. His family and friends knew this about him, that the tough rough guy was a facade.
Dewayne was known for his well-developed palette, one of his favorite meals was Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and Little Debbie Cakes. He had perfect timing when visiting others to be able to collect some homemade baked goods. On Sunday, he made it a habit to stop by his Aunt Pat's for some homemade cookies to go, or to let Carol know that Martha was out of town just in case she made an extra serving.
Dewayne loved his family, he loved teaching his boys about cars, trucks, and fixing just about anything. He enjoyed his Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and children. One of his favorite things to do was to show them his missing fingers, a little bite for entertainment, and sometimes the shock factor. Dewayne always told his family that he wanted to be buried with his missing finger. The finger is with him, but it is "some assembly required"
Dewayne will be missed by many, he will live on in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.
Dewayne Conroy Britton Sr was born on June 11, 1962, in Knox, Indiana. To Kenneth Paul and Julia Jean Britton. His second parents are Aunt Pat and Uncle Harvey Meharg of Letonia. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Julia Britton along with a brother, Tony Suppa.

Other relatives include Brothers, Terry Foust Sr - Pine Bluff, Alvis (Karen) Britton - Garner, Paul (Carla) Britton – Pangburn; Sisters, Crystal Reaves - Bald Knob, Mary Lavender - Searcy, Jennifer (Brian) Clark – Searcy; and a number of nieces and nephews
God has numbered all our days and has given each of us a choice if we want to put our trust in him. Life is never easy but if we put our faith in God and allow him to guide our lives many difficulties will vanish or become manageable. God provides the HOPE we are all searching for.
