Dewey Isaac Coffman, aged 90, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025. Born on April 30, 1935, Dewey dedicated his life to his family.

After graduating from the University of Arkansas in 1956 with a Bachelor’s of Science and Agriculture, with a specialty in Crops and Soil, he received a commission into the US Army (Armor) from 1956 to 1958, before continuing his service as a Reserve Officer until 1986, retiring as Lt. Colonel. His professional life extended into the agricultural sector, where he worked in agricultural chemical sales for companies such as Allied Chemical, BASF, and Vegetation Services. Subsequently, he shifted his focus to insurance, working as an underwriter for USDA Federal Crop Insurance until his retirement.

His civic activities included the Shriners International, serving as President for his Homeowners Association, and President of the Oklahoma state Reserve Officers Association.

After retirement, he spent his time traveling to see grandkids around the country. He was a passionate gardener, he loved all-things photography, deer hunting, sailing, and snow-skiing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Coffman, two sisters, Connie Coffman Wegert of San Antonio and Portia Coffman Short of Russellville, AR; his children, Mary Coffman Delafield (Fred) of Oklahoma City, Dewey Coffman, Jr. of Austin, TX, William Craig Coffman of Del City, OK, Derek Robinette (Tuula) of Vantaa, Finland, Kyle Robinette (Michele) of Montgomery, AL, and Alan Robinette, Royal, AR.

Also survived by his many grandchildren: Aubrey Delafield currently residing in Asia, Graham Delafield of San Francisco, CA, Cooper and Emily Delafield of Oklahoma City, Isaac Coffman of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Elle Coffman of New York City, NY, John Coffman of Denver, CO, Julia Coffman of Norman, OK, Jake Robinette (Alana) Montgomery, AL, Samy Robinette Craze (Thomas) of Montgomery, AL, Alaina Robinette (Nicholas) of Montgomery, AL, Peyton Robinette of San Francisco, CA, Jansen Robinette of Cincinnati, OH. In addition to many nephews, nieces and great-grandchildren.

Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, Gilford and Dalure Coffman; brothers, Paul Coffman and GH Coffman, Jr., sister Occo Coffman Merritt and two daughters, Theresa Coffman Rodriguez and Diana Coffman.

Services to honor Dewey's life will be held at 9:30 a.m. on September 27, 2025, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Glenwood, Arkansas.

Dewey will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a dedicated servant to his nation. He made a lasting impact on his community and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
