Diana Dee Brannan, age 79, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 22, 2024. Diana was born on November 13, 1945, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Edward ‘Dee’ DeCock and Marion (Vanderslice) DeCock.
A lifelong resident of Ottawa, Diana graduated from Ottawa High School and married Paul A. Brannan on December 8, 1963. Together, they raised three children and created a loving home. While Diana dedicated much of her time to being a homemaker, she also worked outside the home as a seamstress for HD Lee in her early years and later pursued a fulfilling career in home healthcare. She retired in 2010 after many years of dedicated service at the Resource Center for Independent Living in Ottawa.
Diana was known for her warmth and friendliness, always greeted others with a kind smile and encouraging words. She cherished the moments spent with her sister Kathy and brother-in-law Robert, especially during breakfast outings. Diana found joy in reading and watching movies, and she loved playing video games with her grandson.
Diana is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marion DeCock; siblings Patricia Griffin, Rosemary Ledom, Alfred DeCock, and Donald DeCock; and daughter-in-law Karla Brannan. She is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Brannan; her son Paul Brannan Jr.; daughters Patricia Constance and Marion Scott; sister Kathy English (Robert); as well as seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory St., Ottawa, Kansas. Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, Kansas.
Diana will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
