Diana L. Butler

Diana Leaver Butler, 53, of Westfield, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.
Diana was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 9, 1970, to the late George and Dolores Leaver. She spent summers with family at their beach house in Breezy Point, New York. Diana loved playing basketball and softball in her youth. She maintained lifelong relationships with her childhood friends. She went to St. John Villa Academy in Staten Island, and received her Bachelor of Arts and MBA from Fordham University in 1992 and 1997, respectively. Diana met her husband, Kevin, while at Fordham. They married on June 1, 1997, and moved from Hoboken, NJ, to Warren, and later to Westfield.
Diana began working at Goldman Sachs in 1994, then put her business career on hold to devote herself to her real full-time job – raising and guiding her four children, Katherine, Gillian, Madeline, and Kevin. She later obtained her real estate license and joined Weiniger Realty in 2018. Most recently, Diana was an event coordinator at L&M Healthcare.
Watching her children play sports, and spending time with family and friends brought Diana great joy. She loved shopping, photography, drinking Diet Coke, and being the "personal stylist" to Katie, Gillian, and Maddie. Diana loved the beach – both Breezy Point and the Jersey Shore. She also enjoyed watching football, and the companionship and antics of her beloved dogs, Nikko and Donovan.
Diana is survived by her husband, Kevin Butler, four children, and brothers George and David. She was predeceased by her sister, Donna Leaver Pantano.
Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, February 13 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Dooley Colonial Home in Westfield. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 14 at 10:30am at St. Helens Roman Catholic Church in Westfield. All other services will be held privately.
