Diana Lyn Eastepp, 62, of Amarillo, TX passed away on October 22, 2021.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 5, 2021, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Deckard officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Lyn began her journey with us on July 27, 1959. Her first best friend was her sister Brenda. They grew up in Amarillo, TX with their mother Anita and father Ed Collins. She spent many summers of her youth in Oklahoma at her grandparents' riding horses with her sister and cousins, swimming and being a tomboy. These were some of her most fond memories.

She graduated High School at Tascosa High in 1977. She went straight into the workforce but could not find the position she enjoyed so she decided to go into the US Army. She served in the Military Police and was stationed in Germany. She completed 3 years and was honorably discharged at which time she returned to the states to begin her motherly chapter in her life.

She first married Russ Ashabranner, whom she had met while in the military, and had two beautiful baby girls Rebecca and Jennifer Ashabranner. Though not due to the lack of effort, unfortunately, they got a divorce a few years later. She then met the love of her life and soul partner Leonard Eastepp II. They married in 1988 and had their son Christopher Eastepp later that year. She worked at Wal-Mart as a loss prevention officer up until Chris was born. She was a Team Lead at Hastings for almost 20 years until they went out of business and closed their doors. She then ended up at DynaTen where she worked until her health degraded to the point where she could not continue.

In her adult years, she enjoyed playing sports. She played softball in Number One league. She played on both mixed and women's teams. They played in every tournament they could get registered for and brought home multiple tournament wins over the years. When she wasn't playing ball, she enjoyed playing Yahtzee or Bunco with her friends and family, or stamping cards with her mom and sister.

She was unfortunately diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in April of 2021. She fought hard the entire six-plus months with a smile on her face. She never let the pain or discomforts thwart her spirit. She remained cheerful and thoughtful of everyone else around her up to her last days. She always placed others first and accepted everyone the way they were and loved them all the same. She truly was an angel sent down to brighten everyone's world that she came in contact with.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ed Collins, and stepfather, Bill Collier, of Amarillo.

She is survived by her mother Anita Collier, husband Leonard "Ditto" Eastepp, one sister Brenda Davis and husband Marvin "Kelly" and stepbrother Clay Collier and wife Leslie, all from Amarillo, her children Becky Singleton and husband Jason of Amarillo, Jennifer Ashabranner of Oklahoma, Ashlie Durham and husband Aaron of Oklahoma, Christopher Eastepp of Oklahoma and grandchildren Matthew, Logan, Grace, Aiden, Maci, Myla, and Wyatt, and many nieces and nephews scattered around Texas, Oklahoma and surrounding areas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to consider making a donation to Polk Street United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.

I worked with Lyn at Hastings. She was not only my boss but a friend. I just learned of her passing and I´m heart broken. My condolences to her family. She was a treasure and had a wonderful sense of humor.

This was my mother! My best friend. I miss her every single day. I wish she was still here with me so I could talk to her and hug her and laugh with her. My life is very lonely and very boring without her in it!
