Diana Cutler Spivey

Diana Cutler Spivey, 81, of Elizabeth City, NC, died on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Elizabeth City Health and Rehab after a long battle with cancer, dementia, and Alzheimer's. Born in Pasquotank County, NC on August 20, 1942, to the late Betsy Brickell Cutler and Fred Allen Cutler, she was the loving wife of Arlan D. Spivey. Diana dedicated her working years to Social Services with the State Government, where she made a positive impact on the lives of many individuals. Her compassion and dedication were evident in her commitment to helping others.
A faithful member of Corinth Baptist Church, Diana found solace and strength in her faith. She was also a valued member of Matoaca Council #10, where she received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Diana's life was marked by her unwavering commitment to serving others and her deep-rooted faith. Her contributions to her community and her dedication to her work will always be remembered.
Diana will be dearly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
In addition to Arlan, her spouse of thirty-three years, she is survived by two daughters, Denise W. Beales (Jim) of San Antonio, TX, and Laurie W. Jeffries (Tracy); a son, Terry C. Weeks (Paula), and a step-son, Ted Spivey (Kim); twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; a sister, Linda C. Warden; and a niece, Fay Creel of Havelock, NC. In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma C. Dolacky.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Corinth Baptist Church with Dr. Matt Thomas officiating. Burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the church and all other times, at the Spivey residence.
