Diane Bain, a longtime Circleville resident, died following a short illness on March 24, 2025 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, she was 81 years old. The daughter of the late Mary Sturm and James Van Pelt was born on September 25, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY. Diane moved from Brooklyn at a young age and married Paul J. Bain on May 15, 1965. Diane was an accomplished local real estate broker and a dedicated member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Bullville. She was an avid animal lover, leaving behind her three beloved cats. Diane is survived by her two daughters, Tammy Robinson and her husband Richard of Middletown, Stacey Millard and her husband Chuck Millard of Conway, SC; two sisters, Linda Mann and Barbara Van Pelt; grandchildren, Autumn, Mikayla and Brendon, six great-grandchildren, Blake, Ava, Emma, Weslee, Emery and Paisley as well as many nieces and nephews. Diane was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Paul; and sisters Patricia and Gloria. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, March 28, 2025 at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 2800 Rt. 17K, Bullville, NY 10915. Entombment will follow in the family mausoleum in New Prospect Cemetery in Pine Bush, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
