Diane Jurhee Barker Cardin, 74, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on July 5,2024. Diane, the youngest of three children, was born on May 10,1949, to Howard Samuel (Red) and Myrtle Edith Barker in Perry, Oklahoma. She was a lifelong resident of Noble County and graduated from Perry High School.
Diane dedicated her life to Christ, and never stopped learning all she could about Him. She collected crosses and angels and loved singing while playing hymns on the piano. She often did this at nursing homes and at church. Diane’s most prized possessions were her family, especially her three children, Edyie, Lisa, and Drew, and their precious children.
She is survived by her son Drew Nelson, granddaughter, Rachel Nelson; grandson, Hunter Nelson; granddaughter, Tabitha Swartz; grandson, Kelby Swartz; grandson, Colton Johnson; granddaughter, Sophia Bottoms; and great-grandson, Davis Nelson. Also surviving her are dear friends: Sandy Cockrum, Patsy Wilhite, Debbie Kimer and many loving cousins and friends. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Todd Cardin; daughter, Edyie Diaz; daughter, Lisa Bottoms; brother, Richard Lynn Barker; and brother, Gary Howard Barker.
