Diane J. Cowan (Bliss) Passed away November 6, 2025 in Lacey, WA. from Cancer and other health problems, she was born in East Olympia, Washington June 28, 1951 attended Tumwater High school was married to Carroll Hawthorne December 1969 where they moved to Texas and had 2 children Jerry F. Hawthorne and Juanita C. Rouse. After moving back to Washington with her children in 1977, in 1978 she started working as a custodian for the state of Washington and quickly found another position as a file clerk for the general administration real-estate where she retired in 2008, During her time working for the state she was able to purchase her first home and raised her children.
She met Michael Cowan in 1995 they married in 1996 in Olympia, WA.
She was preceded by her Mother Juanita M. Bliss Father Richard W. Bliss son Jerry F. Hawthorne and by Husband Michael D. Cowan. She Left behind a Brother Richard H. Bliss Daughter Juanita C. Rouse and son in law Mark T. Rouse along with her cousins and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She loved baking, crocheting, gardening, watching the ocean waves, outdoors, sharing a laugh over a meal, and serving anyone and telling anyone with an ear about Jesus and what the miracles He had done in her life.
She was a member of New Hope church in Adel, Iowa and after moving back to the Lacey area in 2024 started attending Lacey Baptist where she was a member also.
She will be cremated and will be laid to rest to be determined by family.
A memorial Service will be organized by family and friends early in December.
