Diane Ellen Olson

Diane Ellen Olson, age 71 of Minnetrista, MN, passed away October 18, 2025. Preceded in death by her loving parents Ewald and Doris Carlson and one brother, Keith. Diane taught special education for 30 years, starting at Rosemount Middle School and retiring from Mound Westonka High School. She loved her students and was dedicated to their success. Diane was a caring wife and mother and a thoughtful friend. She was witty, generous, and kind. She was a talented cook, a creative artist and designer, and a gracious host. She loved travelling, gardening, reading, and spending time in the beauty of Lake Vermilion and the Landscape Arboretum. Most of all, she loved her family and her black labs. She is survived by her husband of 46 years and the love of her life David, her children Anna and Will (Jun), and her brother Dennis.
Memorial service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 5th, with 10 AM visitation, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1900 7th Street NW, New Brighton. The memorial will be live-streamed and available afterwards (www.lifeatctk.org/memorial). Interment Ft. Snelling.
