In Loving Memory of Diane Sharon Simon (Richmond)
February 9, 1942 – October 13, 2025
Diane Sharon Simon (née Richmond), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, in Bonita Springs, Florida, at the age of 83.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Diane lived a life full of love, laughter, and purpose. She was the devoted wife of the late Jack Simon, with whom she built both a family and a business, City Animation, a venture that marked the beginning of many creative and entrepreneurial years together.
Diane held other various roles throughout her life most important as a devoted mother and wife, and found joy in helping others feel confident and beautiful. Her years working at Jacobson's, her favorite retail shop, were filled with moments of connection and style, as she lovingly helped friends and strangers alike "dress their best."
Her faith was the true cornerstone of her life. Diane was a cherished member of both Peace Lutheran Church in Shelby Twp., Michigan for 25 years, and Hope Lutheran Church in Bonita Springs, Florida for more than 20. Her spiritual community was everything to her and brought her comfort, friendship, and joy as she was always as involved as she could be, serving the church and her Lord.
Diane was known for her loving heart, her spirited personality, and just the right touch of bossiness that made her unforgettable. She adored spending time with friends-especially when wine was involved-and her legacy is one of deep devotion to her husband Jack, her children, grandchildren, and the many friends who became extended family.
She is survived by her children Michael (Kathy), Steven, and Diane (Dave); her grandchildren Hayden and Troy; her brother-in-law Donald Simon, and her nephews and niece, Timothy and Chris Rogers, Scott Simon, and Shawn Voels. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack and her brother Gary.
A memorial service will be held on November 8th at Hope Lutheran Church, details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Lutheran Church or the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, causes close to Diane's heart.
Her warmth, strength, spirit and style will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
