Wilfred A. "Will" Lagesse, 93, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at his residence. Born on September 28, 1932, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Florence (née Lebeau) Lagesse. Will proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955.
In 1980, Will moved from Massachusetts to the Redlands in Miami, Florida, where he made his home for many years before settling in Bonita Springs five years ago. After relocating to Miami, he turned his lifelong passion for photography into a fulfilling career as a camera salesman at Phil's Camera Shop-a job he truly enjoyed and where he made many lasting friendships.
Will will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Claire A. Lagesse; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. Lagesse and his wife, Anna, of New Bedford, MA; two daughters, Deborah Pelland of Miami, FL, and Doreen Lagesse of Bonita Springs, FL; two sisters, Doris Bates of Rhode Island and Vivian Rose of Fairhaven, MA; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, where military honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force. Inurnment will follow.
