Diane E. Watson, 82, of Walpole, MA March 11, 1943 – October 18, 2025
Diane E. Watson, a devoted sister, beloved stepmother, cherished grandmother, and treasured friend, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born on March 11, 1943, in Dedham, Massachusetts, Diane was the loving daughter of the late John and Ann (Adzima) Hickey. A proud graduate of Dedham High School, Class of 1961, Diane went on to dedicate nearly five decades of her life to public service at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds. She began her career there in 1974 and retired in 2021 as the Head Administrative Assistant, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, kindness, and unwavering dedication.
Diane was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Watson, with whom she shared many joyful and fun-filled years. Together, they found great happiness in traveling to favorite destinations such as Florida, Cape Cod, Bermuda, York Beach, and New Hampshire-often accompanied with her family, creating memories filled with laughter and love.
She was a quiet soul with a gentle presence that brought smiles to those around her. Diane found serenity in the sound of ocean waves, happiness in nurturing her garden, shopping her favorite stores and deep contentment in the company of her cherished family. Her travels-especially those shared with her husband and sisters-were among her most treasured memories.
Diane is lovingly remembered by her stepdaughters, Beth Dwyer and her husband John of Millis, and Donna McAvoy and her husband Frank of Franklin. Diane also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Gail Richmond and her husband Larry of Plymouth, and Juanita Grzyb of Dedham, as well as her brother-in-law, Chet Gonski of Dedham. She was predeceased by her sister Sylvia Gonski and her brother Gard Hickey. Her many grandchildren, nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart and brought her endless joy throughout the years.
Her wake will be held on Thursday, October 23rd, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home at 15 Millier St, Medfield, MA, with a burial to follow immediately after; Maple Grove Cemetery, Kendall Street, Walpole.
