Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Mrs. DiAnn Fehler Peeples, 81, wife of Mr. J. Keith Peeples
DiAnn was born on May 13, 1944 in Goldsboro, NC. She married the love of her life, Keith in 1962. They loved to travel with friends and family and their love for each other extended to everyone they met.
DiAnn earned a BA in Psychology at Augusta State University and worked for more than three decades in the medical field in the area of technology and IT systems. Starting as an office administrator in 1967, she took on increasingly challenging roles- from a program analyst, information system specialist, and senior customer service leader. She was motivated and passionate about her career and had a great impact locally during her tenure at the Medical College of Georgia.
For the past 30 years, DiAnn's full-time job became being "church mom" and "Ninny" to her church family at Trinity on the Hill. It is there that she came alive and overlapped her life with so many that grew to cherish her. She was a faithful member of the choir, bible studies and women's retreats, often taking a leadership role. She shepherded children from the days that they donned little saddle-shoes and smocked dresses and sang in the choir, to their wedding days- ushering many a bride to walk down the aisle. As Trinity's wedding coordinator, she consulted on the best selections of music and assured young women and men about to step into marriage that every detail was, in fact, in place. She was known to sneak her adopted grandchildren a treat at Wednesday night supper or hug them closer when she sensed they might be hurting.
Although her circle of influence was great, she cherished her family most of all. She loved abundantly. She was proud of her people. She spoke highly of them and always advocated on their behalf. She pushed them to be the best versions of themselves and encouraged them fiercely. And she prayed- oh how she prayed.
As her grandson said so eloquently: "It is evident in every avenue of my life, precious Ninny prayed for me to find my way to where I am now."
We believe he speaks for so many. DiAnn prayed fervently and we know she continues to advocate on our behalf, now using her beautiful voice and signature style amongst a choir of angels.
In addition to her beloved husband, DiAnn is survived by daughter: Kay Peeples Simpson and husband John Traynham Simpson, Sr.; son: Kenneth William Peeples and wife Clarisse Ann Peeples; grandchildren: John Traynham Simpson, Jr. and wife Alyssa, Sophia Simpson Hiatt and husband Chandler, Maria Lynn Lemoine, Nathaniel Coleman Peeples and wife Georgia, Keith Francis Peeples, Kallum William Peeples; great-grandchildren: Abraham James Lemoine II, August Rose Simpson. An additional great-grandson is due later this year. Mrs. Peeples is preceded in death by her parents: Faye and Richard Fehler and infant son: Richard Edward Peeples.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11:00A.M. at Trinity on the Hill Global Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Hearn and Rev. Roy McVeigh officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kenneth W. Peeples, John T. Simpson, Sr., John T. Simpson, Jr. Nathaniel C. Peeples, and Chandler B. Hiatt.
