Dianne Johnson Moses was born on August 22, 1955, in Hartsville, South Carolina to the late Nazaree Johnson and the late Annie Mae Jefferson Johnson. Dianne departed life on December 19, 2024, after a long illness at home. She was a proud graduate of Butler High School Class of 1975. In 1978, Dianne married the late Mack Moses. They raised five children together in Hartsville, South Carolina.
Dianne continued her education by completing nursing classes and earning an Associate's degree in Human Services from Florence-Darlington Technical College. She volunteered as a school nurse at local public schools and a teacher's aide at St. Joseph Head Start. In 2000, Dianne began business school through the SC Commission of the Blind. In 2004, she obtained a business license through the Blind Enterprise Program and begin operating several vending routes at state and federal locations.
Dianne was a giver of her talents, time, resources, and love. She enjoyed sewing quilts and cooking. Dianne found great joy in listening to music, singing gospel songs, and directing choirs. As a lifelong member and servant of Nathan's Temple FBH Holiness Church, Dianne was the Young People Institute President, an Usher Board member, and Youth Choir Director. She enjoyed working with children, took pride in identifying special needs and services, and hosted summer meal programs at her home for school children. Dianne often said raising her children was the greatest accomplishment of her life. She loved them more than "apples and oranges".
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 41 years, Mack Moses; sister, Fostine Simon; and nephew,
Talvin Simon.
